Ever since I was little, I have been fascinated by everything that has to do with computers. Today, I am a lead software engineer with over 20 years of experience with the .NET framework and I specialize in cloud-native architecture (mainly Azure), API-driven platforms and modernizing legacy environments.
My main skills are .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Microsoft Azure, Umbraco, Optimizely, software architecture, database design, algorithmics and continuous integration / deployments.
Within a very short time, a loyalty shop had to be developed based on Commercetools. As lead developer I was responsible for the entire backend including payment handling, the associated devops setup and the migration of the former system to Azure. This project was successfully completed within a few months.
From Triple IT, I worked on a new self-service platform for more than 13,000 hospitality entrepreneurs for Heineken. I have been responsible for the development of the API-driven backend that runs within the complex software landscape of this brewery.
For De Nieuwe Gevers, a platform for "skill-based volunteering", I am responsible for the design of the architecture, the development of the backend and the management of co-developers. The platform is now active in several countries and more than 25,000 professionals are onboard.
At Valtech, I have been responsible as a lead developer for numerous large-scale projects based on Episerver and Sitecore for clients such as Jacobs Douwe Egberts, AkzoNobel, Rabobank, Action, Škoda and DSM. In addition, I have been a leading coach of a team of about 10 developers & QAs and I have managed a department operationally as a team captain.
As a developer, I migrated several Windows Mobile applications to .NET.
For the Custom Software Development department, I have been responsible as a senior consultant for .NET projects at various customers such as the Belastingdienst, Organon and Stater.
As an architect, I was responsible for the complete technical set-up of a price comparison site.
